Fulton County Fair 4-H / FFA Youth Campsite Policy
1. Purpose
To provide a fair, transparent, and safe system for youth exhibitors in 4-H and FFA to access designated campsites during the Fulton County Fair.
2. Site Allocation
Number of Sites: 10 designated 4-H/FFA youth sites.
Location: These sites are located west of the Swine Barn, in the area previously used for tractor display. NO vehicle parking will be permitted at these Campsites.
Lottery System:
● Sites will be assigned through an annual lottery.
● Eligible families enter each year; sites are not permanent or renewable.
● If a family wins a site one year, they must re-enter the lottery the following year to be eligible again.
Each household is limited to one entry in the lottery, regardless of how many eligible exhibitors live in the household.
Additional names will be drawn and held in reserve in case a winning exhibitor does not end up exhibiting a project at the Fair.
3. Eligibility
At least one exhibitor in the family must be a current, registered Fulton County 4-H or FFA member with an eligible project entered at the Fair. If the parent/guardian should receive a campsite through the Fulton County Fair Wait List they would need to forfeit this site should they win.
Exhibitors must be in good standing with their 4-H or FFA program. This includes:
● Completion of all required club and county meetings
● Participation in Quality Assurance (QA)
● Completion of project requirements and book turn-in by deadlines
● Respectful conduct in the show ring and throughout the Fair
● Families must be current on all Fair fees, paperwork, and rules
● Project(s) must be properly tagged in
Failure to meet these requirements will result in the forfeiture of the campsite. The Fair Camping Committee may reassign the site to an alternate family drawn in the lottery.
Divorced/Separated Parents:
● Each child is considered one entry only, regardless of how many households they live in.
● A child may not have “two chances” in the lottery through both parents.
● At the time of application, the parent/guardian responsible for camping during the Fair must be listed and NOT already have a campsite.
4. Project Determination
Eligible projects include, but are not limited to: Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Horses, Hogs, Sheep.
5. Supervision & Responsibility
● Youth campers must have a parent or legal guardian camping on-site overnight.
● Parents are fully responsible for their child’s conduct and safety.
● All campers are subject to general Fair camping rules (quiet hours, fire lanes, waste disposal, etc.).
6. Application & Lottery Procedure
● Applications due June 1 each year (online or at Fair office).
● All entries will be determined and verified by Fulton County OSU Extension and FFA Advisors, who confirm membership, enrollment, tag-ins, meetings, and eligibility before names are placed in the lottery.
● The lottery will be conducted in a public setting for full transparency by the Fair Camping Committee in coordination with OSU Extension staff and FFA Advisors.
● Results will be posted on the Fair website and at the Fair office.
● Camper fee and contract must be paid and signed within 10 days of notification of winning. Failure to meet this deadline will result in forfeiture of the site to the next name drawn.
7. Fees
● Each 4-H/FFA campsite is subject to the standard Fair camping fee (currently $300/unit for Fair week).
● Fees are non-refundable unless the Fair Board reallocates the site.
8. Duration & Use
● Sites are for Fair Week only.
● No year-round or off-season use is permitted.
● Sites may not be subleased, transferred, or swapped.
9. Violations
Any violation (false information, subleasing, misconduct, failure to follow rules) results in immediate loss of the site and ineligibility for the lottery the following year.
Livestock pens and stalls must be maintained in a clean and orderly condition. Failure to do so will result in the exhibitor’s household losing eligibility to enter the lottery the following year.
